12gb Verbatim Portable Drive is the Way to Go
Tiny, high capacity, low power. All the things we want in a portable drive are slowly coming true. Verbatim’s new 3 inch by 1.4 inch Store n Go HD Drive with flip out usb connector gives us 12gb in a sturdy package.
Verbatim’s latest U3 based flash drive hits a flash drive storage milestone. The Store n Go is available at up to 12gb and sells for $179. With USB flash drives only reaching 4gb for the mainstream at the moment, it’s nice to see manufacturers like Verbatim pushing the envelope.
Twelve gigabytes in a usb flash drive gives us portable travellers one more storage option between the 4gb, soon to be 8gb flash drives and the 20gb and up 1.8” hard drives.
Benefits of this drive over the 1.8” hard drives are durability, even smaller size and lower power drain.
Of course Verbatim’s Store ‘n’ Go USB HD Drive includes their own Windows software, Mobile Launchpad, allowing you to carry applications, personal data, email settings and browser preferences with you wherever you go.
Mac and Linux computers can use this drive but the Windows U3 applications like Skype, AOL IM, Thunderbird email are not supported but that’s no big deal as all those are available on those platforms.
Expect prices to drop within six months. Of course by then the 16gb Store n Go will be out.

Cool Washable Rotary Razor of the Day-Hitachi Razaq
Hitachi has a cool line of rotary washable razors called Razaq. This thing really screams for a designer bathroom to go with it. If you have a razor like this would you want it slumming with the old magazines and loose toilet paper rolls?
Bladeless razors are great for travelling, especially on short trips but there are not enough information on the their Japanese site to tell if these are battery operated. I’ve found you can go for about two weeks without a recharge on travel Remingtons that use AA’s.

Nokia today introduces the Nokia 6288, a new slider phone with video playback features at QVGA resolution (320x240 pixels). For Europe for now at 325 euros so roughly
